Which is fine but has nothing to do with the topic : Nvidia Posts Record Revenue on Strength of Kepler - which got derailed when GPU comparisons were posted off topic.

We should be discussing what got them to profitability as a company in this thread.

it also had 3gb vram, not voltage locked and again most importantly CHEAPER.

Just as bad as the isheep. The 500 series still has plenty of horsepower left. The jump is not needed say if you have a 560Ti to Kepler. Unless you have money to burn and like to brag making up for the small penor you might have. Elite pc gaming is nothing but full of chest pounds. We are also living in a console world now and in the near future. Rather you like it or accept it. Deal with it. These new cards are also an excuse to run unoptimized games that run like crap period. The isheep keep following as well. As code gets more sloppy. Lets bring out more powerful cards thinking they are really getting that big performance boost. Developers don't care about pc gamers. Its a fact. Console is king. Ignore my post. Its more of a rant then any thing.

We should be discussing what got them to profitability as a company in this thread.

What got them there is how good they previously were. What's Nvidia going to do now that they don't have the best drivers and cards that can't even overclock?

Not true because Nvidia released Kepler with 1.175v cap right from the gate voltage lock. Everyone knew that and yet were still purchased in hind sight.

like what I said people are idiots (im included lol) even though they're not the better products people still buy them became of brand name alone. somewhat reminds me of the intel vs. amd days when the athlon 64 was destroying the intel chips but people were still buying intel because of their name

Because they still assumed the driver advantage of Nvidia. Also they bought voltage unlocked cards that were soon turned in to locked. Some people bought them thinking you could up the voltage and really what they got was more limited crap. For instance, I can buy a nice card with more phases and overclock the hell out of it with AMD. Whereas Nvidia I'm limited to a certain amount, even with a card that claims, "unlocked voltage."

Soon people will realize how Nvidia is digging themselves in to a hole and stop the brand loyalty long enough to give Nvidia a kick it needs. I hate my 670 for the false advertising it gave and future versions can't even overvolt. My next card will not be Nvidia unless they make some big changes.

And I'm fully understanding where your coming from. I think we won't see how the chips fall until about 4th Quarter of 2013. There are still open scenarios that haven't played out in the grand scheme of things. Reaction from competitors and their stance with their products. Whether or not Nvidia needs to respond and if the do need to respond, if they even will. Too many variables as of yet.

You said it yourself. It takes time to rewrite people's preconceptions.
