Hey, would you guys who ive been talking to, be interested in making a SSD Troubleshooting/Performance Booster Page? to help others like myself get the best performance out of their SSD's?

There are actually quite a few of these. Most notably, there is Sean Webster's located here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1227308/storage-essentials-thread
Just look at the SSD specific stuff.

Secure erase resets all data to 0. It is the best possible method prior to installing a fresh copy of windows.
Firmware will not remove your data, but OCZ do say to back up important files just in case.

Actually the NAND sets to 1s. And it is not needed unless the drive is giving issues or you are selling the drive. wink.gif

I currently have it setup on my MSI Z77A GD65 motherboard, on the SATA 6GB/s Port from the Z77 chipset. it is in ACHI mode aswell. The drive is also just under half full, if that makes a difference in performance.

Here are my AS SSD speed tests:

And just an ATTO SSD speed test for more evidence.

Please please help me and tell me how i can at least get my reads to 400MB/s.

Thanks.

Why are there 3 different runs with AS SSD?

Do this:
  1. Verify you have the latest Intel SATA driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/21852/a08/iata_cd.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=21852&OSFullname=%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09%09%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09&ProductID=3409
  2. Verify the drive is connected to the Z77 SATA 6Gb/s port.
  3. Run prime 95 on 1 thread: ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v277.win64.zip
  4. As that is going bench your SSD with AS SSD at the same time.
  5. After AS SSD is done bench with ATTO.

Post those results up.

The reason is because chipset power saving features could be the cause and running prime 95 on one thread cancels that out for the most part. Otherwise, that may be it for the drive. I've seen someone else get the same results.

Slight increase in performance following your steps.

But, my Agility4 is still not hitting my 450mbp/s desired speed. Please help meeee!

Thanks.

According to this review here,
http://www.techspot.com/review/566-crucial-v4-vs-ocz-agility-4-ssd/page7.html

Agility4 256GB
AS SSD
Seq. read = 386 MB/s
Seq. write = 370.6 MB/s
4k-64 read = 248 MB/s
4k-64 write = 238.4 MB/s

Don't be dissapointed too much.
In most "real world" tests, Agility4 is almost as fast as the fastest SSD's.

Agility4 128GB is only rated max 420MB/s sequential read and max 300MB/s sequential write in ATTO benchmark.
http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-agility-4-sata-iii-2-5-ssd.html#specifications

Your Agility4 SSD seems to be working normally or almost normally.

You installed Intel RST driver 11.6., try 11.2.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21730
But i think thats it,Ocz Agility 4 was made for people who doesnt have Intel sata 6gb/s controller on their board, but Marvell or AS Media 6gb/s controller.Or they have Intel but its occupied and they left with anther two worse,Marvell and AS Media are restricted by their position on board which is through one pci-e line.
