i own that, it doesn't do any video encoding. however xsplit 1.1 update was built around that card for the most part.
much better than those garbage hd pvr systems.

what it really comes down to is upload vs quality.

i would snag either an i7 or the new AMD FX-8350

it has however been modded a few times since she started streaming to fit other peoples needs.
you can drop the avermedia card
and if you have the extra cash you could jump up to a 7950 or 7970 card

Your "speed boost" speeds are irrelevant when streaming. What's your constant upload rate? I'm going to assume 5

It's common practice to stream @ 70% of your upload rate for good results, so 70% of 5120 (5Mb) is going to be 3584 Kb/s. You say you want to stream at 1080p but I'm going to tell you right now that it's going to stress your computer a lot to meet that bandwidth requirement. You're going to have to stream at a slow preset that puts a lot of stress on your computer. So much stress that even an i7 might struggle with it if your game takes a lot of CPU usage

The two (4) extra cores from an i7-3930k would solve this issue for the most part, but unfortunately it seems out of your price range

. You might have to settle for 720p. By all means you can try 1080p but don't expect awesome results haha

There are workarounds for this. Streaming at 1080p w/ 5Mb up is possible but you will need to cut back the quality and/or drop the FPS down to say 25. Even then you still might get dropped frames/lag during high motion scenes.

PS- That card being mentioned seems to only be able to output at 30 FPS if I'm not mistaken.. The difference between 30, 45, and 60 FPS is really, really noticeable on live streams. I prefer to stream at 45 as it seems smoother and it's at least constantly above 30 and never below

That's really awkward. Usually multiple monitors implies one big virtual desktop. Basically, when you move the mouse cursor to the side of your screen... it goes off the side and onto the next monitor. It's an utter pain playing a game when the side of your screen isn't the side - but on the plus side, you do get to watch a movie.

My advice: Get a Smartphone, Netbook, or Laptop and park it beside your gaming PC. You can use it for whatever you want while gaming, without having to deal with Window's awkward multi-monitor mouse handling.

yeah but most all games lock the mouse to the game when you play it, only time something might be weird is if your playing windowed or, if you pause and mouse goes off screen right?
ive never had a problem and i watch stuff on my second monitor all the time playing games like BF3, minecraft, fallout 3, skyrim

I've been wanting to stream Hawken and Black Ops 2. I don't mind 720p but I've been thinking of 1080p. Considering most people don't full screen. I'm assuming sticking with 720p would be better. I currently use FFsplit + Dxtory + AmaRecTV. Here is my specs: i7 2600k @ 4.2ghz, 8gb ddr3 1600mhz, 560ti. I have a 120hz monitor for my games, and two 60hz monitors for random crap. Here is how it goes

560 ti > 120hz monitor
8800gts > 2x 60hz monitors

Would the AVerMedia Live Gamer HD card be worth the price? I'm hoping to do a single pc stream method. I get around 25-40 fps on Hawken when streaming. Getting more would be preferred. I understand that the single capture card cannot handle the capture AND encoding.

Most of us have old ones. Hell, I bought an old Atom netbook from someone for $50 and it plays Youtube videos fine. I'd never put myself through all that mouse hassle for $50.
