I got that initial 2-2.5TB thing from a Microsoft book I had to study for college although after doing some quick research now I've found there is nothing bad about using it on smaller drives. The only problem with it is compatibility with older operating systems and its inablilty to be bootable from a BIOS machine, it has to be UEFI if you want to boot from it.

I'm definitely going to try this tomorrow and see how it turns out. UEFI + Windows, my mind is blown. All my life I would have never guessed that a 'bios' can integrate with an OS. New tech is so awesome

However this is not the type of thing I'd do the way you suggested in this thread. To me this is the type of thing you sort it out properly and do a format for.
