CRT redraw?

Thread Starter
I recently acquired a Sony GDM-F520, at first it had the over brightness issue that was common with Trinitron CRTs with an image restore this was fixed.
I plan on later using WinDAS to calibrate the display further but another issue I can't find the cause of is when displaying an Image of around 1600x1200 to 2048x1536@ 85Hz I have a redraw of icons, text, lines, and etc.
The redraw is really faint but enough to bother me, it's also always to the right.
If this artifact also goes by another name I would like to know.

I'm connecting with a VGA male to 5way BNC male cable and I've tried many different VGA male to VGA male cables.

Anyone would be kind enough to offer any help?

I would use a better cable to start

I have to use some pretty heavy gauge heavily shielded cables on most all of my monitors or I get that ghosting effect.

Also kinks in the cable or bad contacts can be an issue.

This "redraw" is called ghosting.
If you're using a DVI-VGA adapter, try a different one, it may be causing the ghosting. There are also cables that go directly from DVI to BNC with no adapter needed.

It could be the monitor itself that is the problem. I have a Dell P1130 that has some ghosting no matter what adapter or cable I use, while my Sony G520(which is supposed to have the same insides as the P1130) has no ghosting ever. However, I did notice less ghosting when using one specific cable than with any of the others.
