Will this setup be enough for flawless gaming/streaming for 5-10 years?

Alright I think I have my setup. I STILL NEED INPUT! Does this seem like a good system?

Am I missing anything, are any of these components not compatable, do I need to upgrade any of this for a flawless system or is this good enough for gaming while streaming while watching a movie and browsing the internet all at the same speed? Will I be able to put 2 screens on this or do I need 2 graphics cards or something?

CPU $215
Intel Core i5 3570k
Motherboard $140
Biostar TZ77XE4
Ram $80
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
HDD $80
Western Digital WD Black 1TB
GPU $360
EVGA Geforce GTX 670
Case $75
Rosewill Blackhawk
Power Supply $65
Rosewill Hive 650W
SSD $90
SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

That looks like a good setup. I doubt it'll be good for 5 years, but it is a solid build now, and trying to build something that lasts more than 3-4 years is usually a good way to waste money anyway. That GPU will run 2 screens just fine.

Edit: But I'll add that I don't know anything about the Biostar board and whether it is a quality board with good overclocking options.

You should say more.

I think his point is that computer technology changes so fast that it is almost impossible to build something that will still be relevant in 5-10 years. Five years ago we were using 7800GTXs and X1950XTXs which would be completely unable to run modern games, for example.

Well, at my work there's a computer that didn't need replacing for 15 years. Are these components weak now? Do they breakdown easy?

For that kind of Longevity I would say 3930k @ 4.8 and Quad 7970 @ 1200/1700 might last you a good 5-8 years.

The best today will be ~50% of the best of what is available in 18 months according to moore's law
...and although both 3570/670 are good neither are the best.

Edit: ^Acefires got a better long-term proposal smile.gif
...which will still only provide "flawless gaming" for 2-5 years depending on your display imo...if you dont mind microstutter

Quad 7970 is much more then 5% better than a single 670...more like +100-200% or more.
...again, if you dont mind microstutter...

and even 5% better is still better
