x1650 HELP please :P - Page 2

Dude you said ur motherboard is old and growing mold? There is NO way it is going to support socket t(LGA 775). you are going to have to upgrade your motherboard if you want that conroe processor. Personally, i wouldnt be pouring money into a old rig like that. You would be better off waiting and saving up enough money to build a whole new rig. If you keep ur current rig and upgrade the gfx card, the motherboard, and the processor, you are going to need to upgrade ur power supply. If you upgrade ALL that, now your ram is going to be bottlenecking everything. so you would have to upgrade ur ram. you see where im goin with this? You should definetly just build an entire new rig because ur current stuff just isnt worth saving imho. Same thing with me, my rig is out of date, but it wouldnt be worth it for me to upgrade single components. thats why im waiting to just build a whole new rig. sorry if i sound too blunt or forward but im just trying to save you time and money.

I wouldn't get that AGP card.

If you want a Core 2 system, you must buy
-LGA 775 motherboard
-DDR2 RAM
-PCI Express x16 video card, not AGP

Like the other people said, you can't use a Core 2 processor unless you have the LGA 775 motherboard to put it in, and those motherboards only work with DDR2 memory. If you have a 1.2 GHz AMD processor right now, there's no way your memory is DDR2.
