I was wondering if it would be ok if I accidentally got some thermal paste on the edge of my CPU.
When I mean edge, I mean the green part of it on the top side, right of the golden arrow that indicates where you insert it into the socket. The smear is about 2 mm long on the green edge.

I don't have a camera to take a picture, sorry!

should be perfectly fine i get that goop everywhere as my hads are quite clumsy

just dont get it on the bottom

thermal paste is non conductive so the chances of doin damge is low... unless it insulated the wrong point of contact so very unlikely

I thought only ceramic pastes were non conductive? Pastes with silver in it is conductive?

dont think so i dont think theyd put something that cn conduct electricly inon top of a cpu, i could be wrong tho..

EDIT.
silver pastes arent electrically conductive but slightly capacitive so just dont get on circuits edge of cpu would be fine tho
