I suppose. Just saying though. take it for what it is, or leave it for what it is. but dont troll the internet trying to convince people not to play the game.

i personally hate F2P because then the revenue tactics are simply to pester players and flaunt stupid crap in front of you while you play enough so that you are compelled to buy stuff.

But if someone can't afford 15$ a month... then sorry to throw it out there, but get off your hind end, stop playing video games, and go out and contribute to yourself and society... Just saying...

I can afford $15 a month, I'm just super stingy. I want to know I will enjoy ESO enough before I spend the money. THis is why I don't understand people who pre-order games. What if you don't enjoy it? This is why I would have liked $60 up front or $15 a month instead of both. If I spent $60 upfront and no more cost, I can just play it to death anyways. If it's $15 and I don't like the first month, I'm out of there. I'm not 100% sure whether or not I'll get ESO, I want to wait it out and see what happens to the game. :)

I commend you for your decisions also. This is how you should be if you have the mentality of stinginess, which is fine, wait to see what others think after release, wait to see reviews and streams etc... that is how it should be. pre-orders are simply for the fans anyway, people who already know, regardless of how it is at launch (more or less), that they are going to play it.

I think you have it right from reading your posts though. pay the fee for the game as it is. pay the company for their work in releasing the game in the first place if after reviewing it and seeing a buddy or others play it, then if you like it, continue paying for continued support. BUT, as you said, the support has to be proven to be the case. which we wont know until after release.

Understand your decision, I did the same for many games. I got burned by SWTOR for buying the CE version. Star Wars Galaxies in my head. But EA messed up in management of SWTOR. The game itself I enjoy and may others. Enough of that.
I pre-orde the Imperial Edition from GMG, cant pass up a 20% discount, plus what ever credit I had with them.
I've seen how ESO has changed over the year being in on the PTS.
The Elder Scroll lore and similar play style that I like with DAoC pvp combat, pre order was not an issue or paying monthly. Add to that the guild I'm in has already have over hundreds of preorder and more coming after launch.
Being able to play with friends and making new ones is what playing an MMO fun.

Wait, they're offering 20% discount?

From a guild perspective, it's kind of sad really. Past life events mean I don't really have any friends I know IRL to play with on MMORPG games, and even if I did, that would bank on the fact that they are willing to buy the game. Even with free MMORPGs, I can barely get my friends on (actually, I can't). They're all at LoL! That blasted game!

I laughed when i read this... my friends got me playing LoL finally a few months ago... but like yours, they play nothing else now.

Just wanted to drop back in and let you guys know that the guild I've been in since 2001 is going to be playing ESO at launch and we are looking for some fresh faces. Over the years we've all gotten older and don't have much time for gaming but those of us still around have recruited friends of ours and are looking to have a good presence in the game. Right now we have probably 20'ish that plan on playing. We have a Teamspeak and as of yesterday a new site/forum on guildlaunch. If anyone is interested in running with us as Daggerfall Covenant stop on by and join us...

Have any of you guys tried PvP much in ESO beta? Really all I am interested in. Just read a lot of people cancelling their pre-orders has me a bit worried as I haven't had a chance to play the beta's.

People cancel is really not that much. Some just say that and most barely made it pass starting zone or really did anything or they never preorder in the first place.

PvP is great, it is a siege warfare style. Full active zone with PvE and PvP quests.
The campaigns last 90 days. If you played DAoC it is just that. GW2 is similar in style, but much smaller scale in map and players.
