[Build Log] Here's my FX6300 gaming/entertainment build how did I do?

I received most of the parts already, Still waiting on my 7870 gpu, but will do an out of box test build with my 9600gt to make sure my hardware is working. I havnt bought an ssd yet, and will order one when my gpu ships because its on back order till next week.
  • CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($132.00 @ Newegg)
  • CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($31.99 @ Newegg)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($132.00 @ Newegg)
  • Memory: Samsung 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($14.44 @ Newegg)
  • Memory: Samsung 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($14.44 @ Newegg)
  • Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Already own)
  • Storage: Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (Already own)
  • Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card ($180.00 @ Tigerdirect)
  • Case: Corsair 500R Black ATX Mid Tower Case ($71.00 @ Newegg)
  • Power Supply: SeaSonic 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($109.99 @ Newegg)
  • Total: $685.86
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I picked up these parts over the last month or so, started with the gpu and memory since I can test that out in my old build. I picked up everything else in the last week or two. I didnt list the free stuff I got with it like sleeping dogs, antivirus, and some free fans.

In the future I plan to crossfire and raid 1 or 5. So hopefully I didnt overdo it too much with the psu, Id rather have the options to expand as much as I want than not have enough power/mobo capabilities.

I was debating not even buying an ssd at all and just running programs off of my wd black caviar, its already pretty fast imo, and ssd's are still quite a bit of money price/performance-wise, and thats what I wanted to do with this build, was to get the best price/performance for overclocking/gaming. Also the cpu & mobo I got a combo price for $264 so I just split the price for them in the list.

A pretty solid build for $700 I would say. I hope you have a DVD drive.

Looks great just grab an ssd when they lower in price and you have a fine future ahead for that PC!

Yes and the power efficiency might be lower than expected as in idle power consumption would be under 25% of the rated power.
Nice rig overall.
