Tough luck bro.

If you can afford the new parts, go for that.
Otherwise, borrow the P67 & 2600k from your friend for a day, test it with Prime95 for 12 hours, if its working fine on stock clocks, install your TR cooler, oc it to 4.5GHz and run Prime95 again, check the vcore & temps, if they seem fine to you, get it.

Side note: You sure they're dead? If your mobo & cpu got fried, I recommend changing the PSU since it didn't prevent the damage and might be the cause of the dead components.

Regards from Saudi....

Thanks for the tips!

ummm the mobo earlier was kinda dieing

it sometimes refused to boot

sometimes it refused to read any USB from any of its port

Sudden freezes, alot of lag spikes

then it turned off complety !

THEN i took the cpu off and noticed the mobo cpu socket pins like 5+ of them are broken

and the CPU it self from the back had dark yellow area's

" note that i bought these used from a shop with out checking a few month ago "

it might be my fault for not checking or anything

Try to borrow just the mobo from your friend and test your 2500k, CPUs are very hard to kill and might still be alive and kicking thumb.gif

I tend to see a lot of cases where the pins get bent on LGA 1155 and LGA 2011 boards. I never ran into such issue - but it must be easy to do. I'll always prefer the ZIF socket's that AMD uses - its much less nerve racking. I also prefer AMD's heatsink mounting procedure.

That sounds good alright. How old is your power supply?

Some of the older ones weren't great, just in case it might be wise to change it out before wrecking your new board.

I just replied to your previous thread regarding your 750W PSU (whether it would run your GTX 580).

My recommendation is that you switch your PSU first.

And only get a motherboard because it's pretty damn hard to kill a CPU.
