Anyone else, SSD buyers remorse?

Thread Starter
Have a samsung 830 64gb
while at the time i was all excited to get an ssd, i feel let down by my choice of getting one.
sure the boot times are nice, guess games load faster, installs seem to take a lot less time..
for the price, i just feel kind of dumb for getting one. i could have got a wd black 1tb for about the same price (at the time i got mine).

i don't like wasting money and i honestly feel that SSD, while having nice power consumption, size of the physical drive, no moving parts, and speed increase, are just a waste of money for the price they sell for.

I sorta wish i had bought a 128 gb ssd instead of 256. The boot times are nice and I am glad to have ot, but I certainly would not rank it as higher importance than graphics card, mech keyboards, monitors, etc. like some people do.

Programs are snappy and the computer doesn't hang; I would never go back to a normal hard drive.

mech keyboards don't help your O/S, games, and applications (think Photoshop) load faster tongue.gif

Aye, seems like the majority of people feel this way. I was skeptical about getting one until buying a laptop that had one. After that, I was sold.

Just need to find a spiffy place to mount it rolleyes.gif

If you would of gotten a larger one you might be having different feelings. SSD's are just amazing. I trying using OS's with mech drives as the boot drives and its just slow and almost feels laggy.
