Toggle switch to turn molex power connector ON/OFF?

Thread Starter
I need to get a toggle switch (military style) to power a hard drive molex cable on/off. I am not entirely sure which style switch I need to go with though, a DPST or a DPDT? Also, just to confirm, I should wire the switch over the +12v and +5v terminals, not ground, correct?

DPST should work fine, and yes, you want to wire the +12v and +5v; the grounds can, and should, stay connected.

Thanks for the response! One additional question, which may be a bit off-topic. What dremel bit would you recommend for cutting a rectangular hole in a metal bay cover to mount a rocker switch?

Cut the slot for the switch with either a cutoff wheel in the dremel or drill a couple holes and (in both cases) bring the hole to final size with a file.
