IBM basically created the desktop, they also still own a mass amount of IT and I assume get money for it. If they cared about the desktop business, you'd see a lot more R&D put into it. Not only that, I doubt Intel would be the top dog if IBM tried to play the game. I just don't see them caring, with their net worth far beyond MS, Intel, or AMD why? They rock what they do, incredibly well too.
