Hi,
I'll keep this brief
I have an Asus K53SD Laptop. It has the Asmedia 104x USB 3.0 controller on it.
Due to underwhelming performance I tried updating the drivers. That didn't fix the problem. (USB 3.0 premium cable + Samsung 830 128GB)
I then tried updating the firmware to http://www.station-drivers.com/page/asmedia.htm the first from the 1041/1042 firmware tab.
Now my laptop takes about 20 seconds to POST. Reflashing the old firmware doesn't fix it.
Basically what it does is - I push the start button, Activity leds come on but suddenly flicker on and off for about 15 seconds.
During this time the computer seems to be stuck in some kind of boot cycle between power on and POST.
After about 20 seconds the screen finally turns on and I can see the ASUS BIOS logo.
Everything is fine once it's past that point, rebooting is not a problem at all.
It only becomes a problem when I shut down the computer and try to boot it. Then it does that boot cycle all over again.
Did I mess up ?
Thx !
