200mm Fan Sugestions

Thread Starter
Greetings.

Im going to be after some new fans soon and i need a little help finding out which ones i should be looking at.

Im currently running stock fans that come with the Thermaltak Chaser MK-1 case. I have them running on the low speed setting atm and they a dead silent. The 2x 200mm's are controled by the Case front panel (low or High speed options)
Setup as
1x 200mm Multi-colored LED: Top Exhaust
1x 200mm Multi-colored LED: Front Intake
1x 120mm Black no LED: Back Exhaust (Bios controled Vairable speed)

I got room for a another 2x 200mm fans and 1x 120mm. 1 on the side ..another on the top ..and one at the bottom.
In then end i am planing to go Front/Bottom/Side = Intake. With Topx2/back = Exhaust.

What im looking for are quiet fans ..REAL quiet. Would also like them to be LED colored. (green, red, or blue is fine)
The side fan would have to be narrow as i use a NH-D14 cooler that is likely to be just slightly in the way. No way a 30mm wide fan will fit. Even a 25mm will likely be a tight squeeze though i can move the offending cpu fan down closer to the RAM by a few mm if need be.

Anyway ..sugestions ?

EDIT: Noise wise my current fans are around 13-15db mark according to thermaltake at 600-800rpm. I run them at 600.

for 200mm x 30mm fan, i would recommend a cooler master megaflow (comes in red, blue or no color). absolutely quiet.

for 200mm x 25mm fan, bitfenix spectre pro. also comes in different colors or the standard black and gray. you may need to run them at a lower voltage to lessen the noise,

The BitFenix Spectre Pro or NZXT 200mm (the higher static pressure one) would be my first choices. I would at least switch the front intake to one of these, as the better the static pressure the more air will make it past the HDD area and into the bulk of the case. You can then move the Tt front fan to the top as a second top exhaust, and for the side fan, we'll, personally I would forget it. Unless you have a MB that's running really hot, it will likely just disrupt airflow.

Oh, hmm, it seems like the case has only the one intake (excluding side) while having multiple exhaust fans... In that case, the side fan may indeed be beneficial as you will otherwise be running very negative pressure. I don't see how you can get to a positive pressure state without reducing total airflow significantly, but I would try to keep the intake airflow and exhaust airflow volumes as close as possible.

It also has a 120mm bottom slot that can be used for intake. The case has ather substantial legs that raise it a good 1.5 inches (about 4cm's) from the ground which in its current position is ontop of a 4 high draw unit.

I think as you say, replacing the front one with a stronger fan and moving it to the top would be best. It wont fit on the side, its to wide to accomodate my Noctua NH-D14 heatsink. i can then get a low profile 200mm for the side and a good 120mm for the bottom.

The front fan should pull air in untill it hits airflow from the bottom fan that pushes it up ..at which point it will be over the motherboard.
The side fan will then additional push are ontop the GPU area.

So a 200 x 30 for the for the front is fine
the side would need to be 200 x 20 or 200 x 25
And the bottom can be any good 120mm.

Sor far been sugest
Coolmaste mega flow 200 x 30
Bitfenix 200 x 25
NZXT 200 x 30

Any other sugestions ?

Hi,
I bought these 200mm fans from NZXT (NZXT FS 200LED Silent 200mm 800rpm Blue LED 89.5 CFM Case Fan) and they don't fit the case. I'm also looking for some 200mm fans for this case. Have you found some that fit ?
