This seems like a really useless thing. Free software does the same thing as $120 hardware... yea...

I don't really mind ads, the tiger direct ones on youtube were cool for me. I just don't like the ones that follow you when you scroll or play music or videos while I'm browsing. It's weird when you're already listening to something and you can't really pause the ad's noise.

Firefox + Adblocker.
Why should i pay for something i can get for free? The only ads that annoy me is when they start playing music, or start playing a whole TV advert...

But of course there are the people who don't know about these things (adblock, adblock plus, even adblocking on mobile devices)... hence:

If the person behind this can't do it for under $120, they're an idiot and shouldn't be running a kickstarter.

You could easily do this with a cheapo wireless router with some custom firmware. Almost every router even supports blacklists out of box, all you need to add is some auto-updating to the blacklist. Even easier if you get the source from the manufacturer (though even if not, things like DD-WRT exist...). That pretty little box with the adrtrap logo must cost a lot... and probably without any features of a real router too.
