I talked to him today and he loves the phone. He is grabbing the Note 2 on the 18th. I think hes getting it $100.00 cheaper so he will pay $199.99

Hmm well there are more powerful phones like the LG Optimus G and Nexus 4 but they're not as big and if you're brother likes the Note 2 then just go with that.

Even the Note 2 will not be the most powerful phone in 2013, buying phones for the specs is not a good idea.

The Note 2's capabilities and software are what people buy it for.

Don't lie, it's already weaker than some other phones currently out; there's no way it's going to out benchmark the high end phones next year. Having said that, it's very unlikely that you actually need the power so it's not going to matter too much.

Whenever did I say that the Note 2 will beat every phone in 2012? That's right, I didn't. Now stop accusing me of lying.

Furthermore, the only devices that beat the Note 2 are probably the Exynos 5 using tablets and Snapdragon S4 Pro using devices. There's not that many and they certainly don't beat the Note 2 by a significant margin by any means.

You said that it would be the most powerful phone in 2013, and to do that it would have to be more powerful than any phone released in 2012. TLDR: It's not the most powerful right now and it never will be.

But there's nothing out there that's significantly faster than the Note 2 by any means.

And even if there are faster devices on paper, in real life performance, the Note 2 is buttery smooth and has no lag whatsoever.

The Note 2 is still among the fastest smartphones on the market.
