I dont have a lot of time to search through the forums atm so I hope this isnt already asked.

I want to upgrade to a gigabyte 670 4gb or 680 4gb (I plan to add extra monitors in the not-too-distant future), I have also decided that if I go the 670 then I will get the accelero hybrid cooler for it.

My question is, given that the 670+hybrid cooler will cost approx same as the 680(just under) would you recommend the 670. Also has anyone done any benching to compare similar setups

Sorry if it annoys anyone but this is purely between these 2 cards/setups no Sli, no ATI and I am not really interested in other manufacturers

Since you insist on sticking with Kepler I would get the best Nvidia has to offer, The MSI GTX 680 Lighting
Unless you are planning on running masses of mods or Crysis 3 maxed out, you'll be fine.

Already mentioned but go with the MSI Lightning GTX 680... It is the ultimate Kepler with unmatched build quality. It is also the only Kepler with true voltage control via software and can generally overclock well into the 1300s on the core and 1700s on the memory. Some samples can easily break into the 1400s with a simple Afterburner voltage hack.

Between the cards you listed, I'd go with the 670 4GB minus the Accelero. I highly doubt you will need that cooler as the Windforce 3X cooler is more than sufficient. You are also voltage-locked and so I doubt you'll be hitting astonishingly high frequencies that will require the service of an Accelero even then I think the Windforce cooler would have you covered thumb.gif

All Keplers are voltage-locked with the exception of the Lightning 680 thumb.gif

Check the Lightning 680 Owners Club: http://www.overclock.net/t/1280007/official-msi-gtx-680-lightning-owners-club

Talk to some of the owners and examine some some user overclocks. You will NOT be disappointed with this card thumb.gif

You know how much money you'll save buying a regular antec 620 then maybe a Dwood bracket for it? It'll seriously be only around $60-70 for the cooler, vs the hybrid cooler which is what? $120?
Go that route! Save ya a ton of money!

It better be a damn good price ($70+ less) to choose it over a 680 lighting or a GB 670 4GB Windforce 3
