What on earth are you even babbling about?
The 7970 is ~$400. The $7990 is $900 and will shoot your electric bill higher than a hippy after his 20th blunt.

7990 on 1920x1080 kookoo.gif

A 7950 is more than sufficient at this resolution. Even a 7870 would be powerful enough for high settings at this resolution.

xfx all the way, i bought a couple of them and they are good card. i voted for the msi tf III (since i have it and 7970 bios flash and overclock were succesful ^^) but then i read you are not ocing gpu so just get the highest factory overclocked card you can. the xfx is a good option thumb.gif

My 7950 still beats the snot out of a 680 and 7970 at stock. I really think overclocking should be reconsidered. It is totally safe to do in small incriments without touching your voltages.

There are games that a single card barely holds 60 and plenty that wont do 120 so nohing crazy about it, cept the budget required lol.

Graphics cards die too easy to OC these days IMO unless you're OK with the risk. I stopped OCing the GPU long ago, too many dead cards, I like to sell them when I'm done and a dead card is worthless.

Grab a 7970 and be done with it. Futureproof yourself as much as possible without going crossfire I say.

What're you doing, hooking a deep cycle marine battery up for a volt boost?
