2 audio from 1 PC

I have a 42 in TV set up as a 2nd monitor. I was wondering if their is a way to have whatever is being played on the TV to play sound on the TV and what is on my main monitor to be played through the main speakers.

The TV is set up through an HDMI cable and the speakers are plugged in through at 3.5 jack. Is this possible?

Yes, it's possible. What video card do you have? If it supports HDMI audio then all you need is an application that can select a non-default sound device for the TV (not all do). You'd just leave your soundcard/main speakers as the default sound device (would play everything except the TV) and specifically set the application being used for playback on the TV to use the HDMI audio.

i have an ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard, no sound card. The motherboard has an HDMI port and I have the Realtek HD Audio Manager program if that helps.

In that case it may not be possible, I'm not sure though. You need two sound devices and most recent GPU's have their own, if your using the onboard graphics (mobo's HDMI) I'm not sure you'll have that. What have you got in Control Panel>Sound>Playback? Is there a HDMI audio device?

Your GTX660 may have auto configured the sound to the TV, take a look in the NVidia control panel Display>Set up digital audio, you'll need audio sent to the port your TV is plugged into. If you set LG TV-1 as default (with TV on & pulgged in) does it get sound?

You should just need an application that can select the device. Windows Media Player can:

Organize > Options, Devices tab, click Speakers then Properties, Select whichever of the devices in the list is your TV.
