Hello all

I have a P2 X2 550 with a 3rd unlocked core (see below)

Mobo:
GA-880GM-USB3L

I saw this system from a local craiglister and am about to purchase it for $20

For that price it can sit in my closet and rot, but i am thinking about switching out my P2 X2 550BE for the X4 9550 in the HP.

It is my understanding that AM3/AM3+ boards take most AMD cpus, but wasn't to sure about AM2s

Since I'm already running a X3, I figure $20 for an X4 wouldn't be to bad since I really wont be up for an upgrade till about april or may. I can also give the CPU to my bro who recently started pc

gaming and is using my old 785G

Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry if this sounds newbish, just want some opinions

nonononononono! NO! That x4 is much,much worse than x2 550..overclock the 550 more..They're good little chips.

If you want to get it to give to lil bro..that's OK..but that x4 sux.
