the latest GPU driver of AMD is the CATALYST 12.11 BETA.... or try to read this for you to think about my suggestion http://www.overclock.net/t/1196856/official-amd-radeon-hd-7950-7970-owners-thread ....
I know many other Nvidia GTX 680(sli) owner will not believe that they can be beaten by the HD 7950(crossfire) by there latest update of there Driver and Software...
and also you can save more money due to price range difference of GTX 680 compare to HD 7950.....
but if you want to push it then take HD 7970 for SLI...........

Honestly I'm an nvidia guy. I prefer EVGA because of their warranty and CS team. I know if something goes wrong I can get it fixed or replaced 210%. I'll look into the 7950s beating out the 680s, and reason being for the 670s is because the 7970/680s are out of my price range. I need/want 2 cards because I won't be spending anymore money on my rig for a LONG time.
I appreciate your post, insightful. However if I did go 7950s it would be the TFIII designs which Newegg only has 1 of. Tomorrow morning is my dead line, so everyone feel free to chime in!
