Cooling for I7 920 and (2) 7970s < Preferably one loop> - Page 2

Thread Starter
I m just not finding any reason not to do it other than it not being conventional. I like Swiftech's mounting solution and it would make adding another pump later quite seamless. My largest concern is between the HK blocks and Swiftech due to flow and that pump.

Would the HAF have enough room for a 480? I m not a huge fan of stuff two radiators, but I d be down with one large one.

Well, a HAF 922 wont fit a 480 without modding, not sure what it officially supports however. Personally I think the 360 should be fine if its a thick one in push pull. Problem is can the 922 fit it. It however looks like in a 922 up top the largest you can fit is a 240. So not looking like single rad is possible.

i cooled a i7 930 and my old 5870 with a rx360 it cooled great tho if your going to cool a 920 with 2 7970s i would probly have a 360 and a 240 to keep good temps when you overclock. I been running a mcp655-b in a xspc res for 3 years works great even with 2 rads 6 feet of tubing and 1 cpu and 2 gpu blocks.

OP I would listen to Bal3Wolf as they are talking from first hand experience. thumb.gif

If their is one thing I have learnt from reading so much here (OCN) It is that people who have tell more truth then those who haven't.

I have heard plenty also saying that the 655 pumps are really good pumps. biggrin.gif
