Hey,

How can I disable the touch keyboard in the Windows 8 Pro taskbar?

I've done everything listed on several other forums, I've even disabled all the touch services, yet as soon as I reboot, it's back...

How do I make it die?

yeah just did this the other day, right click tool bar -> proporties -> toolbar tab -> uncheck touch keyboard -> apply.

Should work i think

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, didn't work.

No matter what I do, it's back after a reboot.

You need to start the computer in clean boot.

1 . Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.
2. In the ‘Run’ window type ’msconfig’ and click ‘Ok’.
3. Click the ‘Boot’ tab and un-check ‘Safe Boot’ option.
4. On the General tab, click to select the option ‘Selective startup’, and then click to clear the option Load startup items check box.
5. On the ‘Services tab’, click to select the ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ check box, and then click Disable all.
6. Click OK, and then click Restart.

Note: After performing the troubleshooting steps in clean boot, follow these steps to return the computer to Normal startup mode.
a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.
b) In the ‘Run’ windows type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.
c) On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.
d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
