My caviar Black has faster access times than the blue in my sig rig.

My new WD blue(other pc) however is a bit faster than my Black Caviar. Maybe a single 500GB platter maybe.

Your 2TB Black must be a beast!

yeah shes a beast alright

funny story went to the pc hardware store and asked the guy for a 1Tb drive, he reached under the counter "here ya go", first hing i noticed it had 2Tb written on it, when looking at the register i could see it went through as the price of the 1 Tb, score also got a 550W psu for the price of a400W of same brand cos theyd ran out of the 400W ones, on the same day, so much win that day

thanks KRAMY rep+, nice benchies, although id love to see a comparison of same capacity HDD this could make a difference i think?

Size can make a difference, as it usually reflects increased platter densities.

That said, there are no 1TB Scorpio Blacks. 750GB is the largest, and it scores pretty much identically to the 500GB model that I tested.

is it a good one it was made in first half of this year so id say it pretty up to date, altho the RE4 drives look slightly better over all, especially in RAID setup which im gonna eventually use 2x2Tb caviar blacks for in my server in RAID 5 for ultimate redundancy

on btw the 2Tb is a bit loud when seeking
