a good way for backing up some installed apps in particular ?!

hello every one...

it has been a while that I haven't posted a thing in the form, and this is because that I have been busy in the hell (I live in Syria).... so you know the rest.

now I am away of my native town, as my town is facing some judgment-days !!

thanks God that I got my PC with me when I escaped, but there is a tiny problem:

I think my PC needs a reinstall of Windows, and this is not the problem, but the problem is that some of the programs installed I don't have their CDs at the moment, they are in my home in my town, so I want to really active way of backing them up before formatting and reinstalling Windows, that I can restore them safely and Guarantee they work later.

so any suggestions ??

I have Easus back u home installed besides Nero 11 back it up, do these programs work for what I am asking for ??

and please don't forget to tell me something about how to proceed whether with the programs I have or with other ones, that I have been away from the tech field for a while.

I hope you kindly answer me quickly as I am currently in the cyber-net that I don't have internet in my current hoyse.

best regards to all.

I have done this a few times with varying degrees of success. Assuming you're running Windows 7, you will want to create a system image of your entire hard drive (on an external hard drive). Once you re install Windows, you will be able to copy the registry/program files and settings/windows settings from your external hard drive back to your computer. That's basically it -- check that link I posted for some guidance.

Note: for some programs (for whatever reason) this just won't work; no matter what you do, the program will not run without a fresh install. Give this a go, but don't bank on everything working/running exactly as it was.
