Exchanging the ram and getting a new cooler might be a bit of a fiscal hassle when it is all said and done. Have you considered going with the H100i (when it comes out of course)?
It would be a bit more expensive than the basic phanteks cooler, but it gives you ample space for future mods, and it should perform a bit better.
If not, get the samsung ram and don't even worry about the heat spreaders. Even if you have a window, the heatsink will cover 2 slots and the other two dims (assuming you get four sticks for a total of 16gb) won't be that noticeable against the phanteks fan.
