I have my 3570K @ 4.6Ghz and i am experiencing a lot of problems with games like BF3 and Crysis 2 which are very GPU demanding or at least thats that i thought.
In BF3 in most map i drop to as low as 50fps and GPU usage never really close to 90%+. Most of the times ~ 60%-70% and drops to 40%.
Then i played Crysis 2 campaign. There is drop as low as 40% and again GPU usage is very low.
Could drivers possibly be the problem? I really have hard time believing 3570K is holding the cards back @ 2560 x 1440.

I would say drivers, i don't know how the newest architecture available could cause the bottleneck.
Have you tried lowering resolution?

I highly doubt its your 3570k. Not sure why it would be dropping Like that though - my single 670 keeps me 60-90 fps constant at 1080p. Your 7970s should be fine on 1440p....have you tried each with CFX/CF enabled/disabled?

I just tried 1080p and GPU usage is not really that much lower. It does infant not drop as low in explosion. I just hope there is no problem hardware wise or CPU is holding hack. I was playing a Crysis 2 MP map which was pretty small and there i was 120-130 fps 99% GPU usage, Also playing this BF3 map 120-130fps (Snow Map) 99% GPU usage.

Is your overclock stable? Could also cause issues.
Have you tried increasing by a notch?
You say your GPU is overclocked, is it the same at stock?
Have you tried increasing GPU Vcore and is your GPU memory stable?

My 3570K 4.6Ghz is stable as its been like this for 3 months now and i did 24 Hour Prime 95. GPU both can do 1175Mhz @ Stock Volts but have them @ 1100Mhz. I will try stock and see. Played Crysis2 with one card. @ 1080p its getting 50-70fps. CF is getting more fps but not much more bu same fps drops.

GPU score @ Ghz speed was 20K. Physics Score was a bit weird. First run i got 7.7K second run i got 8.8K.

It could be drivers, even i have dropped in the 40-50s while playing bf3, its an intense game and playing at ultra doesnt help, Crysis 2 on the other hand does run nice with occasional drop to 50s. From the looks of it, it seems normal, though i easily scored 9k and almost 11k OC'd for my setup.

The problem is when i drop its not because of GPU because their usage is down. 3570K @ 4.6GHz can maintain 60fps+ then what about people with 120hz screen? What do they do when the CPU cant push that many fps?
