Can you help me diagnose a freezing issue? - Page 2

Well based on those blue screens with "POOL" in them, most state drivers being th cause so why don't you try a fresh install with windows without installing any drivers? Windows 7 has drivers for your sound and possibly graphics, not USB3.0 though. If there is no drivers for your graphics, maybe you could try an earlier version. Perhaps you could firstly try an earlier version graphics driver seeing that your problem looks something related to graphics.

Thread Starter
So I've been trying everything I can think of and I've been trying everything I can read. I just noticed something today, however. My NB heatsink burn the crap out of me if I touch it. HWMonitor is reading TMPIN2 (which is the NB temp probe) and is reading max temps of like 30C. However, All the other heatsinks are WELL below the temperature of the NB heatsink. They all read about 30C (about 86F), and the others all feel approximately 30-35C. Could this cause my crashing? What can I do about it? I removed the heatsink and added some MX4. Still incredibly hot. Added a fan. Still hot.

My crashing, I've noticed, happens after a few hours of stressing the CPU and then happens frequently if instantly rebooted. The crashing goes away for a while after I let the computer sit for a bit. Any ideas? This is all on my 990FXA-UD3.
