Boot sequence timing. Question.

Hi you guys.

I was wondering. When you're timing your boot up to windows 8, how exactly do you do it?
Is it from power up, until login password screen in windows? I use a bios password. So my PC will go through it's post and then just before loading windows it will stop and ask for the password.
Usually I type in the password and as soon as I hit enter I start timing the boot. Then as soon as the windows log in comes up asking for my windows password I stop timing.

Is that the correct way to do it ?
So many people in here are talking about 7 second boot times. But my computers post is already about 5 seconds. Before I have put in the bios password.

Anyway I was just wondering about 7 second windows 8 boot ups. They are from when to when ?
Thanks
Happy time PC.
