No display ?

Hi, i diden't know where to post so i'm sorry if this is the wrong section ..

so yesterday i bought a new motherboard and a new i5 intel CPU along with some ram.

i switch in the new parts computer starts no funky sounds everything seems cool, until i realize there is no display on the monitor ( this is maybe 20 minutes after the PC was just working fine ) however the onboard gfx or whatever you call it seems to work with no problems so i have no idea what is wrong, i have tried to search for answers on google but i haven't found anything that have lead me to solve my problem so far and it's really grinding my teeth because daaaaaaamn this is annoying haha.

the new motherboard i bought is a ASrock z77 pro & the CPU is Core i5 I5-3570K GFX is ATD HD6950

i'm really terrible at computers so i'm pretty much in the ****ter. Hope someone in here can help me out because i'm f lost.

Yes i have checked if the GFX is properly put in and i have tried the other slot for the GFX .. i have cleaned for dust i have tried to look in bios with my 0 knowledge where i honestly couldn't find a damn thing about graphic cards so my knowledge on this area is on it's limit

halp please

Welcome to OCN smile.gif

Have you connected the power connectors (2x 6pin) into the 6950?

yes i have, otherwise it would make that "beeep" sound haha.

any other ideas what might cause it?, i'm 90% sure it's bios/motherboard related as the GFX worked completely fine on my other motherboard and there was only 20 minutes difference from it being in my old motherboard into the new one .. GFX spins like a cat in heat and there doesn't seem to be any problems with it at ALL ...

The video card should perform normal boot checks. Does it throttle up and down at boot or just stay at full throttle?

Try it in the lower PCI-E slot. You can always update the BIOS. running out of ideas...nerdsmiley.png

i tried in both slots, and the GFX just spins like it would normally do if it actually worked .. hehe.

but again, i'm pretty sure it's either motherboard related or BIOS related somehow.

how do i update the BIOS again?, sorry like i said earlier i'm a complete ****tard when it come's to computers i only know the "basics"

could it be somehow in bios that the motherboard graphic card is set to default and it then overruns the PCI slot ?

Not likely, are you running drivers for both the onboard video and the Dedicated card?

Or better yet are both installed, and what are your BIOS settings for the onboard GPU vs the dedicated card?

i might be running driver for the onboard since i installed everything from the CD that belonged to the motherboard

i have installed the catalyst driver for the HD6950 card.

i haven't found anything related to the GPU in the BIOS system, i don't know this motherboard very well. I guess i might have to read the manual to understand how the bios system work this certain motherboard, i have never owned a asrock before so it's very new to me

http://i.imgur.com/4kdd6.png is this mother****er causing the problem?, i just don't see how this is the problem since there wasn't any display on the monitor even before i installed the drivers from the CD that belonged to the motherboard.

In the BIOS look for any PCI-E related options such as palette snooping...

I can't see any ATI (CCC) files on the screenshot...
