Serious problem with GPU sag

Thread Starter
having this problem for a while with my 7950 (non ref).
it has sagged, and from my understanding it sagged so much it can has a bad connection with the PCI connection.

instead of giving too much detail, here is a thread i found with an almost identical problem. only difference that i have been running my card on stock everything and never moved my rig anywhere.

i'll just add that whenever i have the problem my MoBo gives me me the b2 error code and to immediatly fix the prob i had to support with my hand the card, and to make it work for the (short) long term i had to very carefully adjust the edge of the card till it booted with no probs.

today though, i reached my limit and just took a string and did this: (warning, awful shacky flash phone pic)

my solutions thus far:

1) try to RMA and possibly replace the card (have it since August 2012 so still under warranty. only problem is that i fear that the sagginess was accelerated by my tight cable management which might have pulled the card a bit more down and could be considered physical damage)

2) try something like the PowerColor POWER JACK (ugly solution yet could be one of the best ones)

3) get a backplate to increase the rigidity (either custom by Dwood or block one)

4) by getting into WC could try to lift the card a bit with the tubing (and possible additional backplate), quiet the expensive solution. (i only fear that there might be to much tension on the tubing that it wouldn't hold it or it would strech)

Any ideas and/or recommendations are very welcome.

I had pretty bad sagging with my Asus GTX 670 and I bought a Power Jack and it solved it. Yeah it looks a bit rubbish but if it helps then all is good.

It's would intermittently show an error and a quick jiggle about would solve it. Haven't had to do it since I installed the power jack.

pretty much my story of the last 6 months. but it took a bit more than a quick one, and had to be VERY careful not to hit anything or sudden movements. sometimes if my fan was at certain % of speed it could vibrate the card so that it does the error again.

also, would anyone recommend an RMA?

I'd probably RMA the card first and if it still happens then I'd RMA the motherboard as it could be a faulty pci-e slot.
