In all honesty if the string fix u used works ..i would leave it.
If your worried the extended period of sagging has damaged ur card then RMA it and then when u get the new one immediatly do ur string fix and leave it at that. The string is alot less obviose than daisy chaning zip ties or buying a stand.
Just make sure its strong string ..or use thin nylion (like fishing line)

Can you re-route the aux power cables to give an upward pull instead of downward? That would be a cleaner looking fix if its possible with your case layout.

a little update:
today i gave my card to the store i bought it from (since in israel the RMA process goes throu the Store, which unlike the US handles it first. but if there is something that they cant fix here they send it to the company @ taiwan or hong kong etc (different companies at different places)

the salesman said it would take 14 days the most, and if they decide that there isn't any physical damage it would be replaced. (fingers crossed

)
but, he also said that if nothing is found wrong (that is a legit reason to replace) i may need to bring the MoBo. (which is logical since even though i tried both top slots they can be damaged)

So until then, i'll try to use my HD4000 a bit more
