Hey guys

Long story short, picked up a amd x3 triple core 740 black edition , with 2gbs of ripjaw ddr3 ram, asus m4a785td-m evo motherboard for $80 yesterday to build a little home server box.

Added ocz agility ssd, case, 4gb more of ripjaw ddr3 ram and unlocked the 4th core.

Trying to over clock it and best I could get was 3.6 ghz and I am hitting a wall as to what to up / reduce to get a higher clock. I am using a corsair h70 to water cool the pc I haven't seen it go past 45 degree during prime 95 stress test.

Edit : memory is rated at 8 - 8 - 8 - 24 1600.
See pic

Any help would be much appreciated
Jesse

looks like you could use more voltage, only at 1.3v @ 3.6ghz? Try 1.4 as long as temps are good.

Eh on second thought your board is 4+1 phase with no cooling, id just be happy at 3.6ghz.

Take your nb frequency back a multiplier or 2, drop your ht multiplier down to get it as close to the stock 2000mhz as possible, and turn off cool n quiet, Cpuid is reporting your core voltage as 1.040.

I assume your fsb is set to 200? try nb multiplier x13, ht multiplier x10, and cpu multi x19.

1.4v should be fine for the cpu, but as previously stated watch your temperatures, and use folding@home or prime to test stability.

Its set at 1.4 apparently wont go up that high due to motherboard limitations? you think?

I did what you asked however it BSOD's at the login screen. Just trying to learn as Ive been wanting to over clock pcs for around 3 years but I could never do it. First time in my life I got something overclocked so I just want to see what the best I can do.

Thing is I understand all the terms but what it says on the guides are not the exact terms in my bios. TIA
