So, my ASUS nVidia 7950GT died a short while ago, and since I'm short on cash (no job, starting tomorrow!), I traded a working 8800GT for a full case of beer.
We took apart the PC, cleaned it, cut off the 4-pin plug from the PSU (not the mail power one, my motherboard simply doesn't need it), cut off the cases Firewire cable (I don't use Firewire), insulated all the wires, and put the PC back together with cable management in mind. After that we turned on the PC, but no signal... Wt#? Tried another working card, just to be sure, no signal... Put back the nVidia 8800GT, did a CMOS reset, still nothing.
I'm convinced the cut-off PSU 4-pin plug isn't the issue. My mootherboard doesn't need that plug, so it being cut-off shoulden't matter. As for the Firewire, it has never been plugged in, so that doesn't matter either.
What's going on?
