Help with mouse issue i've had for years?

I have this strange issue that I have not been able to fix for years now. Here is what's wrong.
When I play a game, the mouse has no lag, however as I continue to play a game, I notice that a bit of mouse lag will appear. Then, It will slowly reduce to no lag at all. The process repeats.

Here is what I've tried.
Replace MB
Replace GPU's to AMD
Limit fps to 60.
Force Vsync using 3rd party apps
Force triple buffer using 3rd party apps
use MS drivers only
use RAT 3 mouse drivers
avoid all chipset drivers
install all chipset drivers
reformat
try different usb port
use dvi on my monitor
use hdmi on my monitor
change repsonse time to "normal" on my monitor
change repsonse time to "faster" on my monitor
change repsonse time to "fastest" on my monitor
remove mouse accel using reg mod in windows
lock dpi profiles using RAT driver software
adjust polling rate to 1000, 500, 250
install monitor driver

I have the issue in every game I play.
For instance, I was on Crysis and the mouse was perfect. I was in a building moving my mouse around and it was perfect. I ran out of the building then back into the building. I went to the same area within that building and tested mouse movement again. It was more sluggish! I pressed Esc, then pressed Esc once more to go back into the game and this removed the sluggish mouse input. This is not right at all.

Please help!
Thank you.

Hm, buy a whole new pc and test again wink.gif
If vsync solves it but it is not the graphics card, did you try another monitor by any chance ?
Also I play on a fast 120hz tft and never use vsync and I got no tearing

I will try another monitor later tonight.
I just installed win 7 and crysis on a mech hdd and I still get the issue. vsync is causing the lag variation i think, but without it, gaming tears really bad and everything is unsmooth. I've just vsync day one and I've ignored this issue for ages.
I've pretty much replaced MB, CPU, RAM, PSU and That's solved nothing.

You shouldn't play with Vsynch imo. Just get a 120hz/144hz monitor or get a CRT screen. You won't notice Screen tearing at 120hz and 120fps>.

Because you say its sporadic behaviour, all I can guess are fps drops or low fps in game. Sorry I can't help more.

You could try opening CMD as admin and type winsat formal -restart clean, and do not change anything after that. smile.gif

Isnt that just general mouse/input lag your experiencing?
I know that your or AMD now but....i know in Nvidia Inspector there is option "Frame Rate Limiter" and within the dropdown box it is stated that for 60Hz a FPS cap of 58FPS will reduce "inputlag"
73FPS for 75Hz or 118FPS for a 120Hz monitor.

Perhaps you could try to set an FPS cap appropriate for your monitors Hz in according to what Nvidia Inspector states.
Again....i know your not on Nvidia but im just using that app for reference.

Worth a shot?

Hello, thank you for the support so far.
If I set the fps to 58, it will run 2 below my refresh rate and this causes very slight stuttering because there is a mis-match between the amount of frames and the actual refresh rate.

Also, this is not general input lag, seen as there is no consistancy and the whole thing is strange anyway! Just read what I put about crysis. Very odd..... mad.gif

I thought this issue was brought out by someone else not long ago. The consensus was that it's the problem of display card drivers in performing vsync. You could try to search that thread thumb.gif

I tried using in game vsync though and not the drivers, to begin with.
