Want to upgrade my cpu but....

Okay, what I'm wondering is if the new FX 4300 would really be worth the few extra bucks for me. As of now I have a Phenom II 820. Asus Suite II overclocked it for me from the factory 2.7 to 3.3 and the windows 7 score rates it at 7.4 I'm also thinking I could save a few bucks and just stay with the AM3 socket and getting a Phenom II 965 x4 black ed. I bought my mother board with an am3+ socket in anticipation of the pile driver but from what i read they are kinda a disappointment for the price. Any advice would be appreciated.
Also off topic but I notice when I post my rig isnt listed under my name, do you not see it because it's you logged in or do I need to adjust setting in my account?
Just in case I'll give a screen shot of my hardware and scores

The FX-6300 for a mere $10 more is a far better value. Upgraded from 955 BE O/C at 3.8 and quite satisfied with the boost. Check out this review which goes in-depth on the 4300 & 6300 head to head.

un unh..965 b.e. and OC it to 4.2+
Faster single-thread..and 4 true cores. Not 3 with 3 modules(still can't wrap my head around that stuff) but i know it's not as powerful as real cores.

You're upgrading from phenom to another amd FX chip? Just keep the current one you have now. It wouldnt be a siginificant improvement and in some cases could probably be worse

You should get an SSD

It's more noticeable compared to the other upgrades

Here's some real benches of Phenom II vs FX chips..Thuban/Deneb is better where it counts.

A CPU's job is to compute math;the one that computes math faster=is faster
SuperPi and WPrime are math computation benchmarks. In those..FX loses, by a sizeable margin.

The main reason I'm upgrading now is my system will randomly hang and go blue screen on me, not often but like once a month maybe. I've tried updating to a few different updates for the bios and its seemed to improve the stability but happened to me again last nite again. This all started when I bought the new MB and before I played with the auto tuner so I'm sure its not the over clock. I've actually read that the MB I have can have problems with being stable with some of the older Penom II chips. So either thats the reason or I did something wronng installing it.
The chip was salvaged from from a refurbished gateway, and I had to pry it off the original cooling fan due to the fact the paste pretty much cemented the thing to it. It didnt appear that any pins were damaged, and I would think that if the pressure of prying it off did in fact due damage it would be completley useless, I'm no computer tech though:)
Thanks for the replies everyone.

For sure I will be adding one to "the cart" when I buy the processor. I figure with Black friday right around the corner I'll be able to get the best bang for my buck.
