Thread Starter
I am having a hard time deciding if i should buy black ops 2 on PC or Xbox. Please Help. I havent played them on the PC since COD 4 and I dont know how the online community is.

Well, if you want a better experience in terms of graphics, sound, feel - go with PC. If you want to play with others, go XBOX.

Choose the one that you have the most friends to play with. As far as the best experience it'd be, mouse+keyboard and overall better graphics with dedicated servers.

Although, I'm not 100% happy with the way Treyarch decided to do the PC version with the lack of renting dedicated servers and no developer console which is a huge hit to PC gamers.

since cod4 the port has been terrible.

cod belongs on the console as bf3/warfighter belong on pc.

cod gets more support on consoles

Definitely 360. When these COD games first come out, usually there's a lot of patches and 360 gets all the patches first. PS3 gets it a little late, and PC gets it last. You get really bad service on PC.

From the communities website for Black Ops 2

Call of Duty®: Black Ops II PC combines matchmaking with secure ranked dedicated servers. This means that you get into Public Matches or League Play via matchmaking lobbies. It is easy to party up and play with your friends. You can adjust your classes or scorestreaks between matches. It also means that every Public or League match is hosted on a dedicated server running in one of our high bandwidth datacenters around the globe.

yup and if your expecting anything remotely close to how nice cod4 servers are/were far as making them how you want them... those days are gone...why companies choose to do that and kill the life of their game with no mod support and no custom dedicated servers... is beyond me...

guess because cash cow is consoles and they put all their resources into that

I'm wondering the exact same thing, xbox or 360. I find FPS harder with a controller, and graphics better on PC versions of the previous games but i'm 50 / 50 for the fact PC will probably be a port anyway and online isn't as fun

The game on PC has it's own dev team, i don't think it is a direct port; it has features which consoles don't: Lean, FOV slider ( why this is a feature on a PC game i don't know, but it is apparently ), FPS choice ( See FOV ), and better graphical options. The core of the game is going to be a port, but with a layer of PC specific options - which still beats MW3's poor, poor efforts.
It has dedicated servers, yes, however for some bizarre reason, they have decided they will be hosting them themselves, this means we cannot rent servers for teams to train/play on. This decision makes no sense, only to be able to control how their game plays on a platform in which it's bread and butter is with modding. Oh, and they haven't and will not release MOD tools or console. The life of this game is going to be a couple months unless they release mod tools, which they won't.
