I just ordered a brand new EK-FC680 Copper/Plexi from frozen CPU. Everything in my order says GTX this GTX that, but the box of the product says GTX+. I see on their site there is both GTX and GTX+ versions and wanted to know what the difference is. I looked on EKWB and frozen CPU and can't seem to figure it out. Anyone have an idea?

Looks like there is no real difference, take a look:
GTX

GTX+

The difference is purely visual, the compatibility is the same for both blocks.

I was looking at those pics as well, but from what I can tell is that the top one is non CSQ and the lower one is the CSQ design which mine is CSQ as well. What worries me is maybe one is higher flow design. I have a weaker/quieter pump therefor I was aiming for the highest flow setup I can get which is why I went EK in the first place.

Is the non-csq vers even available anymore? I had thought that once EK revised the design, the old design would not be manufactured anymore. I personally like the CSQ version better, just because it fits the mold and covers the card more. Performance wise, not sure, I'd assume since it covers more room and is a bigger block= more copper, it would dissipate heat better. The plexi is also frosted, which kind of looks cool, but gives reason for some to hate on the fact that it hides flaking and clouding.

Non CSQ AFAIK is not available unless its old stock. Block is the same size and it looks like the only difference is the plex itself. I hat the look of the circle stuff. They ought to offer a straight frosted version with just the EK medallion in it. No circles just frosted, and offer things in copper not just nickel.

I personally dislike the csq design but wanted to get the block quickly and that meant I had to get a csq. Right now I'm finding it isn't fitting my gtx 680 4gb (2686 model) which is listed to fit this block. The 4 screws around the Gpu go in fine but the other 5 screws won't fit with the stock backplate. Pretty frustrated about it. It fits fine without the evga backplate but then the VRAM on the back is exposed.

If they are too short then its not a problem, just get some longer ones, M3 IIRC is what EK uses. Well used to at least.

Quote:
The screw heads don't fit down in the backplate holes. And the stock screws are too thin to thread into the block. Says on coolingconfigurator that it fits by card by customer fitment.

Hmm, the customer could have removed the backplate or gotten longer screws. I would just get some longer screws for it at a hardware store.

I'd be afraid to get ones that were to long and the head sizes vary so if the head was small enough to go into the backplate the screw length could be shorter.
