Need your advice regarding a peltier module (And whether its worth it).

Thread Starter
Good evening OCN -

An opportunity, perhaps, have fallen into my lap - But before I have my sister-in-law start the car, I thought I would ask you if its even worth it.

First off, I am a complete newbie when it comes to Extreme cooling - I know what I been able to Google and thats about it, I am -VERY- keen to learn more though! I been doing watercooling for years, and truth be told have moved on from using the PC for entertainment purposes and now treat it as a hobby for benching and pressing it to the limit.

What is it ? What can I use it for ?

I been offered this, completely for free, never used (The person never finished the project - Though the module is working 100%):

A Peltier modul 24V 380 Watt (10amp), manufactered by http://www.uweelectronic.de/en/ (Though the 380W is no longer on their website, but from the pictures below it may be their Air-to-Air 380W module?) - It was apparently made to cool down radios (?).

Rants, advices, pros and cons are all welcome - As I already stated, I am able to get this thing for free.

Looks like it has a 176 watt cooling captity at a delta of 0*C, and 120 watts at a delta of 10*C. With you have an Ivy, that is more than enough cooling. If the tec is a 40x40 mm tec you could just mount it right in between your water block and your CPU, though the best method is to get a copper plate to do between the CPU and the TEC to trransfer the heat better. CPU's only make heat in the middle, where the die is, verses TECs that cool the whole surface evenly. The copper plate helps spread the heat more evenly on the TEC.

I would just sell the cooler on ebay, and buy a single tec direct die.....
