I can lock my CPU using Throttlestop from Techpowerup, http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Utilities/ThrottleStop/ and that helps my FPS by a good 5-10fps.

I've got a 420m overclocked to a 555m clock speed and it doesn't do much. I think another huge bottleneck that is just physically limiting the system is bus speed, the 128bit bus with DDR3 GPU memory is a big killer. GDDR5 with a high bus width should help allow the GPU to be fully utilized. But it also seems like new GPU's take forever to hit the market. Guess its just a thing with new tech to reach the mobile industry.

Here is a pic, I get around 70% Load. This was in CQ.

All I OC'ed was Clock @ 750mhz

That CPU, though great for a laptop, still can't play e most demanding games (battlefield 3 64 players)

Nvidia 680m is really good actually

I was playing in a Indoors map, with 8 player server. It should at least handle that.
Only time I will be thinking of a upgrade is when this laptop starts falling apart biggrin.gif

My G53JW gets about the same fps #'s. I think it is about all that can be expected of the 460m. What are your 460m's clocks? I set mine at 800/1600/1500 w/Afterburner.

lower res = more dependant on CPU as the GPU doesn't have to work that hard. And BF3 is pretty CPU intensive, especially when it becomes the bottleneck.

I am looking at 750/1350 Ima try your clocks for a sec and see if it's solid.

WOW, I just played one of my most best matches, no lag, at all. I stayed above 40FPS the whole time on 1080p!
Thanks so much for everyone who helped, I can finally play!

Just watch your temps with using throttlestop. It will allow your laptop to thermally shutdown if you aren't careful. You can also increase the TDP feature with keeps the CPU cores in boost mode longer if you can do so with low temps on the CPU.

Yeah Temps will be a Problem. No Watercooling for my Laptop biggrin.gif
Now if only I could ramp up my fans and get better heat sinks, one can only wish rolleyes.gif

Just saw my Temps for my CPU - 89C (Max). Damn, I don't think the chip will last long.
