What will it take to get my 4400+ to 3.0GHz? - Page 2

3.0 in the x4400 is not easy once you pass 2.5 the fun begin's.Cooling is needed at most as long probably you need plenty of volt's.I su in my mobo the overvolt's feature that give me 1.52 and sit @ 2.7.Rigth now im working in another system can't post any pic's of the whole set up but maybe tommorow.I can post all the set up for you.The x2 4400 @ 2.7 is sweet. Is a great chip.My steeping is ADA 4400 AA6CD CCBWE 0546 PMW.

Tha's a good news then you can hit 2.7 maybe 2.8 with your memory and some extras.Try to find people with the same mobo like your's like that you can check their setting's.

currently I've hit 2.6GHz (237*11) on stock cooling and 1.4 vcore , haven't tested the stability yet, good temps idle 33-35, load 42-45, room temp 22, i'am afraid to go higher because of my PSU is only 350W.

any recommendation guys?

Wow good stepping. You probably should get a higher quality PSU before you start doing more OCing.

yeah , the extreme watt calculator shows that my system using around 280W at full load.

any recommenation about a 450W+ PSU from amazon (around $50), and it should be as lightweight as possible (cause shipping to my country cost $8 per lb).

thanks

8 a lbs... ouch. Unfortunately heavy= good.. Generally the more heavy duty components in a PSU the more stable it will be. Every overclocker has picked up a disappointingly light PSU and said "this will never do" without even having to turn it on.
