UPDATE!! Here it is! 911MHz core at 1.038V and 1861MHz MEM on air cooling at 77C benchmark load. EVGA GTX 570 HD Rev:1.0 with slight cooling mod.

I removed to cover and drill a 2.25 in hole through cover and four screw holes and mounted a second 4500 rpm fan pushing into the card directly over the VRM! Be for the mod I was getting 104C on the PCB directly over the VRM"s and after I'm lucky to reach 80C! I also added a temp fan over the top of the card to cool the PCB and that brought the temp down another 6C. I feel pretty confident with running this card hard and not torching the VRM I'm planing on making a permanent mount for the outside fan.

Yeah your last picture shows the extra fan right over that VRM sink doesnt it, them things sure get toasty alright, i cant hold my hand on reverse of VRM on my 480' with full cover WC block on, even on stock volts biggrin.gif

At first when i saw that extra fan you put on i was thinking that it may clash with the airflow of the stock fan blowing outwards but now you show how its cooling the VRM like that id say its irelevant as its all about keeping the VRM area cool imo thumb.gif

Great job, i love ghetto mods.
Can you get an aftermarket cooler for the 570HD? or even take off the shroud and get a GPU only block and then ghetto mount a fan over that VRM sink tongue.gif

Thats what i did with my 2nd GTX480 as i couldnt find a full cover when i bought it, just temp hot glue-guned the fan onto stock heatsink plate and run the fan off a 7v reducer cable i made myself.

I might try something else at some point but this was quick and easy and is working REALLY WELL right now so if it aint broke, don't fix it! I am all about ghetto rigging s$!t although I felt this turned out really nice. Almost feel like I cheated on the ghetto and went upstate on this one..

After thought: The air flow out of that end of the card was really weak to begin with even with the fan running balls out. With the second fan running it actually dropped the GPU temp about 5C at idle but I haven't noticed any real change under load.
