New drivers=3DM11 score much than drivers 12 months ago?

So im running the latest Beta drivers 310.33 on GTX480 Sli.

Last year in september i did a 3DM11 run on single card at 920 core amd got a score of P7321 , i just did a benchmark on a single card at 920 core and got P6758 .what the hell is going on? redface.gif

I have Sli disabled in NVCP and have all background stuff quit, only thing different in my rig is that i have different ram, more of it and at lower timmings redface.gif
Is it a case of newest beta drivers are crap for benching or do i have a hardware issue here?
Anyone had similar finds with 310.33 ? lower benchmarks?

I mean, cards still work fine but....i just expected to see score way higher than last year as i thought performance grows as drivers mature?

3dmark is allways updated and scores change as hardware comes out?

If that was the case then scores would not be comparable and would make the whole idea of benchmarking kinda...not right at all wink.gif

probably nVidia is paying more attention towards improving real world gaming performance than optimizing for 3DMark. I also noticed a drop in score with the latest drivers, contrary to their claims about performance improvements across the board. but i am fine with that as long as real world gaming performance does not go down the toilet.

Yeah...its only a benchmark and i suppose it doesnt necessarily mean that games will perform worse than last years drivers but still i wouldnt have expected to see a loss in score, maybe a standstill.

Anyway im gona try other drivers and see if i can beat my previous years 3DM11 score tongue.gif

EDIT:

306.97 scores P7096 so thats straight away a better score than 310.33 drivers, i will run again later at same core i used last year (930Mhz).

for 3dmark 11 bench, I recommend the 304.79 and 306.97, at least it's the best driver for my system.

Yeah, the 306.97 got me a better score and i will try 304.79 tommorow thumb.gif

Well seen as the latest beta just got released i downloaded them and ran 3DM11 with them.
Results where not an improvement over 12 months ago for me...but i was pretty sure this was the case tongue.gif

yeah, and one thing again, this driver decrease my OC daily from 1240 to 1220 lol....and decrease my FPS too, from 85 (avg) to 60 (avg), lol

Your Physx score is off by 1200 points, that doesn't help the situation also. Physx test is through the cpu only, so I wonder what is up since everything is the same.



In the OP, you said your were running 920core with the 73xxp score, it's 930Mhz. But 10Mhz isn't going to be night and day here.
