Umm well windows vista was slow because of several things:

Remote Differential Compression - it was new on Windows Vista and did not support older systems but it was always running so u have this nonsense running for no reason sucking up CPU power
the WIndows Vista Search index - always ran no matter if u were using it or not. Again sucked up CPU power for nothing
Windows Vista UAC popped up for jsut about everything even for the most basic programs.
Windows side bar (although u could disable this is think) - it requred a lot of memory, CPU power and networking power

Is that good? biggrin.gif

If your frustrated with the way Windows 8 looks and operates, simply install Classic Shell to be able to not only get the Windows 7 start button back, but customize it to look like Windows XP or Classic.

I believe only Windows 8 has (what now isn't called) metro.
