actually covering those letters with masking tape might be very tedious, and if not done properly it might turn ugly.

as for using paint brush, I'd recommend model kit paints thinned properly. thinning the paint properly can eliminate brush strokes.. I'd also recommend to use acrylic paint, since they're not as strong as lacquer/enamel paints (most spray paints are lacquer/enamel), so even if you mess up, you can clean it properly with acrylic thinner without affecting the area around the text. (also if one day you'd like to sell the card, you can strip the paint with thinner. tongue.gif
