The component companies are the ones who develop and maintain the drivers for all their customers. Gigabyte then just updates their websites with new versions provided to them.... but this does not often happen in a timely matter. If you want the latest drivers, go the company that actually wrote the drivers.

ok well not to sound stupid... but how do I figure this out? Is it realtek? It doesn't say on my motherboards manual

What you can do is look at the manufacture's website, in your case Gigabyte at your motherboard and see what drivers they provide.

Then when you see them, you can figure out which ones you need and you can go get the most up to date ones from the individual manufacturer's sites.

Device Manager might tell you.... or you can decode the device ID number... or look at the chips themselves on the motherboard... or look at Gigabyte provided drivers and see what they're called. thumb.gif

Here are few links i could find

http://www.gigabyte.in/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449&dl=1#sp

1 .Audio

2. LAN

3. Chipset Software

you can download rest of the drivers from here

http://www.gigabyte.in/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449&dl=1#dl

normally i would search for similar boards with similar hardware and see if they have windows 8 drivers if yes , i might try those drivers rolleyes.gif
