My Sata 6gb SSD is running @ 3gb speeds, HELP!

Hey guys, been a little since I had to ask for help. I recently purchased a Samsung 830 for my OS, & started using my Corsair Performance3 SSD as a storage drive for a game. I checked the reads & writes & for some reason they are slow. I looked @ my Intel RST app. & it says my Sata transfer rate is 3 gb/s.. which I don't understand because my SSD is Sata 3 & is plugged into my second Sata 6gb port on my board (Checked the bios).

My Samsung is running just fine. I wiped my Corsair SSD via parted magic before throwing it back in my rig.

Can it be my cable? I've read that cables don't effect speeds though.. confused.gif
Could it be my boards controller?

Some boards have Marvell and Intel satas. See if you are using the Intel ones for better performance.

I do have Marvell's but its not plugged into that. Its on the 2nd port under my primary drive.

I kinda figured it out, when I reset my bios to default values.. it runs @ 6gb/s. Hmm.. guess its something that i'm changing around in there.
