Is this defect or it's ok to use?

I just got the radiator from FrozenCPU. and clearly inspect the radiator i found that the tube got a big dent on it. as in picture. The paint coat still on top so it's not from packaging or transporting. Is this a manufacturer defect? Can i still use it or should i get an RMA. Thanks DSC_0005[1].JPG 2985k .JPG file

I would not trust this, as it could leak and or cause a back-up of the liquid and make the pump work harder and break the seals. I'd return/ RMA.

Put some water inside it block the inlets and shake does it leak? If not use it.
EDIT: i dont even think it has anything to do with water anyway, just to transfer heat, so it shouldn't effect anything.

it's ridiculous that FrozenCPU not pay for return shipping. Now i have to pay another $25 to return it. The owner Mark is not even that friendly. This is my first order with them and i got this problem.

The dented part is a channel where the water passes through for the heat to transfer to the aluminium fins. Having said that, if you fill it with water and it doesn't leak, you should be ok to use it.

It's still pretty poor on FrozenCPU's part to make you pay for return shipping on a clearly defective item.

Its one thing to fill and test for leaks but when you put pressure into the equation.... who knows how it will fair.

I personally wouldn't risk it

He can test it outside the case...
Just put the pump, rad and res together and test simple.

I second that. A pin hole may not leak with no pressure on the system. If you have a pump on hand you could do some more "advanced" testing. I agree I wouldn't trust it for too long. Can you get a hold of the manufacturer? You may have better luck there.
